A separate exhibition booth installed to educate children on Parliament and its legislative process.
The X-Ban – 2024 Education, Science, Technology and Trade Exhibition held in conjunction with the 106th anniversary of Bandaranayake College Gampaha was declared open recently (24) under the patronage of Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe, the President.
Exhibition booths were established based on the themes with the purpose of promoting health and hygiene, achieving sustainable development through a green economy, expanding cooperation through social diversity and using artificial intelligence in everyday life.
Accordingly, a separate exhibition booth has been established to educate children regarding ‘Parliament and the Legislative Process’. The exhibition hall consists of a replica of the Parliament complex, a replica of the mace, how the Parliament chamber is designed, models of the uniform worn by a speaker in the chamber, information about the Speakers who represented the Parliament, as well as a large number of books and magazines that contain facts about the Parliament. A large number visited this exhibition booth which ha d educational significance. The exhibition booth is set by the students of the college with the contribution of resources by the Department of Communication of the Parliament.
Under the guidance of Mr. Kasun Gunaratne, the principal of the college, the said exhibition has been organized in collaboration with the college staff of the college, students, alumni and parents. This Education, Science, Technology and Trade Fair will be held till 28th July.
