“Kadunu – Bidunu – Sithin Upan Sobhanurava 2024 Singing Consecration Concert” 11th Mithuru Mithuro Yahapath Amadhyapika National Award Ceremony, held today (09) at Silver Ray Hotel premises, Lellopitiya, Pelmadulla under the chairmanship of the Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms, President’s Counsel, Dr. Wijayadasa Rajapaksa.

According to the advice of Most Venerable Kuppiyawatte Bodhananda Nayaka Thero, the founder of Mithuru Mithuro Forum in Palamadulla Rilhena, established for the rehabilitation of drug addicts, the Sobhanuravaya 2024 singing concert, the 11th 11th Mithuru Mithuro Yahapath Amadhyapika National Award Ceremony was organized. Three Mithuru Mithuro Rehabilitation Centers have been set up in Kuruvita, Gampaha and Piliyandala areas.
From the singing competition held among the rehabilitated youth in those centers, the final competition to select the winner among the eight contestants selected for the final round was held under the Sobhanurawaya 2024 singing concert.
Veteran music director Navaratne Gamage, veteran vocalist Niranjala Sarojani, vocalist Rohan Shantha Bulegoda, Visharadha Surya Dayaruwan, Visharadha Ranil Mudunkotuwa served as the judges for the finals.
Appreciation awards were given to those who contributed to the Sobhanuravaya 2024 concert.
The evaluation of the recipients of amendments was also done here. Sabaragamuwa Provincial Governor Attorney at Law, Navin Dissanayake, Member of Parliament, Attorney at Law, Talatha Athukorala, former Speaker Deshabandhu Karu Jayasuriya, Acting Inspector General of Police Deshabandhu Thennakoon, K.D.U. Group Director Saman Upasena and a large number of Ratnapura gem businessmen and mine owners attended the event.
The band Avalanche, led by Viraj Perera, a rehabilitated vocalist through Mithru Mithru Forum, provided the music for the finale. The winner of the final of the Sobhanurawaya 2024 singing competition, Ishara Dilshanha, was presented with the trophy by the Minister of Justice.

The second place went to Senesh Sankalpa, and the third place went to Amila Udara. Appreciation awards were also presented to the jury.

To rehabilitate drug addicts, Mithuru Mithuro Forum was started in 1987 and so far fifteen thousand people have been rehabilitated.

Veteran announcer Najith Matarage contributed to the announcing. The band ‘Avalanch’ celebrated their first anniversary as well as the release of their latest video.
