Hon. Speaker (Dr.) Jagath Wickramaratne visited the historic Sri Dalada Maligawa on the 4th, where he paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic and received blessings. The event was attended by Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Dela Bandara.
Subsequently, the Hon. Speaker visited the Malwathu Maha Viharaya and met with the Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thera, the Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter, to receive blessings. Thereafter, the Speaker proceeded to the Sri Selva Vinayagar Temple in Kandy to receive blessings.
On the following day (5th), the Hon. Speaker visited the Dewatagaha Mosque, where he met with religious leaders and received blessings. Later, he met with Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith at the Archbishop’s House in Colombo and received his blessings as well.
