Hon. Akila Ellawala appointed as the new Chair of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on International Relations.

Hon. Akila Ellawala, Member of Parliament, was unanimously elected as the new Chair of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on International Relations.

The name of Hon. Akila Ellawala, Member of Parliament was proposed by Hon. Premnath C. Dolawatte, Member of Parliament and was seconded by Hon. (Mrs.) Kokila Gunawardena, Member of Parliament.

This appointment was made at the meeting held on 08.08.2024 due to the vacancy created for the post as the Committee Chair given the resignation of Hon. Namal Rajapaksa, Member of Parliament who served as the Chair of the said Committee from its membership and chairmanship.

Members of the Committee Hon. Yadamini Gunawardena, Member of Parliament, M. Jayalath Perera, Director Legislative Servises / Director Communication (Acting) were present at this Committee meeting held.
